How I work

Therapy is a challenging process that requires a lot of time and effort. It is my responsibility to make sure that my clients are engaging fully in the process they have initiated and that they feel progress is being made. In addition to the work done in each session, I provide “homework” and practices that provide my clients with the opportunity to accelerate their change and growth. My twenty-five years of experience and on-going professional development give me an abundance of effective tools and approaches that I tailor to fit the needs and personalities of my clients. With me, no two people get the same therapeutic experience.

What I value

In my work I value much the same things I value in my life as a whole. Throughout my years of training and working as a psychotherapist, I have come to believe that the keys to good psychotherapy are: honesty, open-mindedness, respectful listening, and unique approaches to every need. I value warmth, a sense of humour, courage and, of course, the strictest standards of confidentiality.

  • Over 25-years of experience working with adolescents, individual adults and couples

  • Board Member, Ontario Society of Psychotherapists (OSP)
  • Chair of Ethics, Ontario Society of Psychotherapists (OSP)

About me

Image of two canoes sitting just on the edge of a lakesideGrowing up in Northwestern Ontario in the 60’s and 70’s I enjoyed a full life including sports and outdoor living. No one, least of all me, would have imagined that my studies at university in Toronto would eventually lead me to a challenging and rewarding career as a psychotherapist in North Toronto and Bloor West Village.

I am one of those fortunate people who found her true calling early in life. I have spent the last three decades acquiring more and more knowledge, skills, and expertise in the areas of personal growth and development.

Whether it is helping a couple find the courage and confidence they need to improve their relationship, a teen struggling with depression or drugs, a confused adult looking for success and purpose, I am honoured to know that I can help these people have a positive experience as I guide them on their journey.

As a Mother of two wonderful adult children, I know the demands of parenting and family life. I recognize the stresses the parenting role can put on relationships and how one can get lost in a caregiving role. As a daughter, I know that the Parent/Child dynamic impacts us all of our lives and that there is always the possibility of healing old wounds and using all experiences to create resiliency and strength.

Life long learning is one of my keys to happiness and health. I encourage you to consider learning with me and making your life better than you could have imagined.
